| Relationship
is restored
“For God so loved
the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him will not die but have eternal life.”
Because of Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection
from the dead, the perfect relationship with God that
existed in the beginning can be restored. Scripture
promises that if you believe Jesus died for your sins,
they will be forgiven and you will finally be free from
the punishment of sin. It's a promise.
| What is faith? |
|
“It is by faith you are saved, that not
of yourself, It is a gift of God.”
“Faith is being sure of what is hoped for;
it is being certain of what cannot be seen.”
You may not be able to see God, but that does
not make Him any less real. Jesus observed that
even though you cannot see the wind, you know
it exists because you can see the way it moves
the leaves and branches of the trees. Just as
the wind blows through the trees, God moves and
works in the world. We catch glimpses of His creativity,
His grace and His order.
It is by grace through faith that you can begin
to live a spiritual life.
It takes faith to believe that God exists. And
it takes faith to believe that you can know the
joy, peace and wonder that come from being in
the presence of God. It takes faith to receive
God's mercy and grace. In our journey through
life, the Bible encourages us to stop, make a
180-degree turn toward God, and have faith in
Jesus Christ. |
Scripture also promises that if you accept Jesus as
Lord and Savior your relationship with God will be restored
and you will live for eternity in heaven, united with
your Creator. Where you will go after death is no longer
uncertain.
Through faith in Jesus, your life is transformed and
you are able to enter into God's presence. The
communication that existed in the beginning is renewed
and you will no longer feel far from God. Though good
works, such as reading and praying, could do nothing
to remove the penalty for your sin, when you are reborn
in Christ, you begin to do good works joyfully out of
love and gratitude for what God has done for you.
