| God sends Jesus
to be a bridge between God and man
“This is love:
not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent
his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
God sent His son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus
perfectly demonstrated the character, power and love
of God while living as a man. Jesus was the first and
only person who lived a perfect, sinless life. He was
innocent, but he willingly gave his life (sacrificed
his own life) to pay for the sins of others. Jesus came
to take the punishment for the sin of every person who
has ever lived. When Jesus died on the cross, God's
justice, which demands punishment for sin, was completely
and finally satisfied. Jesus became the sacrificial
lamb for the sins of the world.
| Why did Jesus
have to die? |
|
Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than
this,
that one lay down his life for his friends.”
Jesus said that death in the place of another
is the ultimate expression of sacrificial love.
The Bible says this is how God demonstrates his
love for you: while you were separated from Him,
Christ died for you. Jesus demonstrated perfect
love—a love that never fails. He loved you
more than he loved his own life. His expression
of sacrificial love is the free gift of God.
Jesus wanted you to experience the fullness of
spiritual life. So he gave the most precious thing
he had—his own life—so that the wall
separating you from God could be destroyed. He
died so that you can be in relationship with God.
He, alone, can connect you to God. Are you ready
to receive his gift?

When Jesus died he defeated sin. But Jesus' story
does not end with death. After three days in the grave,
Jesus rose again, proving that His victory over death
was complete. His followers watched as He ascended into
heaven where he now sits at the right hand of God the
Father. Jesus is alive today.
Those who believe in Jesus are freed from the power
(rule) of sin and death. If you choose to follow Jesus,
he freely offers to take your sinfulness and replace
it with his own righteousness (perfection). If you are
honest with God about your own sin and if you accept
Jesus' death as the punishment for your sin, you
can receive God's forgiveness. The price of your
sin is death. Jesus took your place and died the death
that you deserved.
There is nothing you could ever do to become pure enough
to enter God's presence. Jesus is the only way
to God. Jesus is the way, the truth, the life, and the
final sacrifice for sin. If you believe and accept God's
gift—His only son—then your relationship
with God will be restored for eternity…
