| A unique child will be born |
| Prophecy:
For a child will be born to us, a
son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His
shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 |
Fulfillment:
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold,
I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the
people; for today in the city of David there has been
born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord ...
And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of
the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men
with whom He is pleased.”

| The child will come
from David's lineage |
Prophecy:
Of the increase of his government and peace there
will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

Fulfillment:
A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David,
the son of Abraham ...
Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham
to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and
fourteen from the exile to the Christ.

| The child will be
born to a virgin |
Prophecy:
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a
virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call
His name Immanuel, which means God with us.
Isaiah 7:14 |
Fulfillment:
The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for
you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive
in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High;
and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;
and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His
kingdom will have no end.”
Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I
am a virgin?”
The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit
will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow
you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the
Son of God.

Prophecy:
But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of
Judah,

Fulfillment:
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of
Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?
For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”

out of Egypt |
Prophecy:
When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and out of Egypt I called my son.
Hosea 11:1 |
Fulfillment:
... An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get
up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and
escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is
going to search for the child to kill him.”
So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night
and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod.
And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet:
“Out of Egypt I called my son.”
